Individual songs from "The Count of
Luxemburg"
are well known and have become
standard in the classic musik,
notably
"Lieber Freund, man greift nicht
nach den Sternen", "Bist Du’s,
lachendes Glück" and "Mädel klein,
Mädel fein".
In the 49th year of the Mörbisch
Festival the operetta "The Count of
Luxembourg" by Franz Lehár will
celebrate its premiere on the festival's
stage.
At the very first performance at the '
Theater an der Wien' the "Count of
Luxembourg" was met with frenzied
approval and after more than 300
presentations en suite it swept the
world.
Franz Lehár created an effective score
meandering between lyric and stormy
music and enchanting scenes whose stage
effectiveness has lost nothing of its
charm it once had. And there is no
better place than Mörbisch for staging
this musical play.
